"Lambeaux épistolaires" est une série de 18 tableaux. C’est la correspondance d’un homme et sa femme sur presque un an. Lui fut de ceux qui, par défi, s’engagèrent et contribuèrent à la libération de Metz en 1944. Elle, restée à Paris avec leurs enfants, ne verra son retour que l’année suivante. C’est la correspondance de mes grands-parents, qu’à part eux personne n’a jamais lue. Ne pouvant me résoudre à la jeter ou à la brûler, je l’ai transformée en «lambeaux épistolaires» recomposés en lettres anonymes, en parcelles d’éternité.

"Epistolary shreds" is a series of 18 tableaux. It's the correspondence of a man and his wife spanning almost a year. He was one of those who defiantly enlisted and helped liberate Metz in 1944. She, who remained in Paris with their children, would not see him return until the following year. This is my grandparents' correspondence, which nobody but them had ever read. Unable to bring myself to throw it away or burn it, I transformed it into "epistolary shreds", recomposed into anonymous letters, into parcels of eternity..
